Fourth of July Lake

Fourth of July Lake
This is a small mountain lake nestled in the White Cloud range in
the Saw Tooth National Recreation Area in Idaho.
(I know, most people think of potatoes when they think of idaho!)

Fourth of July Lake
Fourth of July lake from another angle with a strutting
mountain behind it. This lake is completely surround by tall
snow capped mountains.

Trail going up
A glimpes of a meadow in the old growth forest before reaching
Fourth of July Lake. The stream in the photo is run off from the
and melting snow.

Disgruntled traveling companion
Should you happen to take a companion to the mountains, try to
find one that is used to long hikes. Veena was not happy that
I dragged her on a little ten mile hike. But, she soon enjoyed
the mountains almost as much as I did.

Ridge Walk
A view well worth the climb. There is almost nothing I would
rather do than ridge walk a mountain.
