My new home used to have lead-based paint in the window wells, and Cpu
forbade the opening and closing of the windows, since the friction was
sure to release lead dust. That was one hot summer. So hot that my inlaws defied her when they would visit. Not to her face, though.
Sure to avoid the same problem in our next home, as part of home improvement hell on sweet home Chicago, we immediately had the deadly lead windows tested by a le ad remediation company, and budgeted for a window company to replace them. Yay for energy efficient double hung windows!
